Dead Animals

Roadkill

Given the village's rural nature, there are times when animals end up dead either in the road or on the side on the right of way. When an animal ends up becoming roadkill, the Department of Public Works attempts to clean up these situations as soon as reasonably possible. However, given the vast nature of our road system, there are times when animals are not tended to because we simply do not see them.

Assistance

If you see an animal dead in the road, please call Village Hall at (262) 628-2260 and any member of the village staff will be able to help you.

Deer

In cases where a dead deer is found, please follow the matter of procedure. The village Department of Public Works does not remove deer unless they obstruct a road way. Otherwise the Washington County Sheriff's office contracts with an individual who will remove the animal as soon as reasonably possible.
