Highway Department
Department Overview
Our Village Highway Department is the engine that drives our community. The Village has approximately 150 miles of road in its 36 square mile boundary, and they are actively maintained by three road crew workers, our mechanic, and Public Works Supervisor Adam Schmitt.

Importance
A diversified, well-balanced transportation system is a major factor in the growth of a community. The road transportation system exists to move people, goods, and services both through and within the community. Richfield's transportation system consists of Village subdivision streets, arterial roads, county trunks, and state highways.
