Unfortunately the Village, along with the Richfield Volunteer Fire Department, are the only governing bodies that can issue a formal 'Fireworks Permit'. The permit can be obtained from the Village's Deputy Clerk, Caroline Fochs at (262)-628-2260 ext. 11 or at DeputyClerk@richfieldwi.gov.

It’s back to school time and that means the buses will be running at all time of the morning and afternoon. As our kids starts their 2012-2013 school adventures we need to make sure we are watching for kids and buses. Wisconsin state statue 346.48(1) states that when a bus is displaying flashing red warning lights, you shall stop the vehicle not less than 20 feet from the bus and remained stop until the bus resumes motion or the operator extinguishes the flashing red warning lights. Violation of this carries a fine of $263.50 and 2 ponts.

To answer the questions what do our parks lack! We lack a basketball hoop or skateboard park! Any child no intersted in soccer or baseball pretty much is left in the dust when it comes to sports in our park system. Unless there is a court I don't know about we have no where for kids to shoot hoops or ride their boards or bikes that is safe. Let's face it our road ways in RF are not the safest to do either of the last two safely! It may not fall under beautification but it certainly is something that we are in great need of in our community for our youth!

There is no doubt that the most important document the Village produces is our annual Village Budget. This year Village Staff is focused on continuing to improve the quality of product we make public. One of the things we heard last year were the charts, graphs, and glossary we included were very helpful to residents.
Is there anything else we can do to help make the Village Budget more understandable?
Is there anything we can do in advance of the Community Budget Workshops to help better prepare residents for the conversation?

Community Reminder:
I hope everyone enjoyed Richfield Days as well as the parade. A lot of preparation is done by the parade committee, the Village, Richfield Volunteer Fire Department, and many other community groups. Their dedication and hard work makes this weekend successful, thank you!
This is a reminder to lock your doors both to your residences and to your vehicles if they are parked outside. When it comes to your vehicles make sure your purses, GPS, iPods, Phones, are not in plain sight, often times these is what thieves are looking for.
Please report any suspicious activity to the Washington County Sheriff’s Department at 262-335-4378.

Great topic Jim and maybe I am late coming in on this conversation but, what drew me to Richfield was it's Rustic and Rural atmosphere. Love it! Lets keep it that way. I know beautification and development may not go hand in hand, but I would hate to see Richfield turn into a small City. We have a lot of History; Holy Hill, Messer Mayer Mill, St. Mary's Church, and the apparent oldest standing house in Richfield which is being renovated. I think preserving this makes Richfield a beautiful and proud place to live.

Storage of campers and boats in driveways gives a bad impression of the neighborhood and should not be allowed. This is especially true in winter and when the equipment is old and weathered.

I have spoken with them and they feel the same as I do. we agree that the current speed limit of 4o mph is to fast for the width of the road and current amount of traffic. including the horrible amount of dump trucks and cement trucks that use this section of road to get to us41. we believe that the trucks should use hwy 175 to hwy 60 or hwy 175 to 167 to reach us41. pioneer road was never built to withstand this amount of truck traffic and the road surface shows it.
i and my neighbors plan to bring this to the village board in the near future.
